About The Cakebox:

     Tia Willis and Holly Ashley created the Cakebox in 2004. Tia and Holly met in culinary school then went on to work together after graduating from Joliet Junior College. They both graduated with culinary degrees with a strong concentration on the pastry arts.

     Holly has been baking for eleven years. She started at her grandmothers’ apron strings when she was 12 years old making birthday cakes. While in culinary school, Holly did her first wedding cake and decided this is the career for her.

      Tia has been baking for five years. Her first career was far from the culinary industry. As an engineering technician she was not fulfilled and decided to turn her hobby of cooking into a career. While in school she joined the culinary hot foods team and won several medals while competing.

     The cakebox has recently opened a new storefront in New Lenox, Illinois. We meet with clients daily to plan cakes for parties and special events. We make cakes and sweets for weddings, birthdays, anniversaries, and special events. No appointments necessary.
